Clinical studies of Aspoxicillin in Orthopaedic Surgical field

Abstract
|
|
|
Aspoxicillin, new semisynthetic penicillin has a broad antibactericidal spectrum against gram(+) and gram(-) bacteria.
Clinical evaluation of this drug in 30 cases of various orthopaedic problems was performed ;
1. Soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections and open fractures were treated with aspoxicillin.
The results were excellent, 14 cases : good, 11 cases : poor 5 cases.
2. Culture positive cases were 7 cases. In other cases, results were evaluated with CBC and clinical course.
3. Poor effective cases were general disease 1 cases, tuberculosis 2 cases and pseudomonas infection 2 cases.
4. There was no side effect and allergy reaction.
In conclusion, aspoxicillin is a safe and good drug for treatment in orthopaedic surgical fields firstly.
